This position is located at BEP,PACKAGING/FEDERAL RESERVE VAULT SECTION WCF. As a Currency Shipment Checker/Processor, you operate shrink wrapping machines, palletizers, manipulators, stretch-wrap, labeling printers, forklifts, verify skids of currency, collate currency bricks, observe work for defects and quality, affix labels, sequentially stacks cash-paks on skids, stretch-wraps completed skids, deliver to Federal Reserve Depository Vault and stage/load for shipping to customer.

Duties

Help

As a Currency Shipment Checker/Processor, you will:

  • Check all processes received from Cope-Pak to Packaging (Cash-Pak), and Packaging to the Federal Reserve Vault to ensure they are secure (strapped and sealed), undamaged, and properly tagged to enable quick identification.
  • Report damaged packages (Cash-Paks) and improper seals to respective supervisor.
  • Utilize forklifts to stage ten skids of currency in numerical order for processing through the cash-pak shrinking operation.
  • Remove security seals, straps, and tops, to gain access to 800 or 1600 bricks contained in each process depending on denomination.
  • Collate and sequence bricks in sets of two to be placed on conveyor constantly observing exposed brick surface for cut-off, red lines, water wipes, and other defects.

Physical Requirements: The incumbent must be able to lift 70 lbs. (Lifting one end of a rod of plastic film that weighs 140 lbs.). Work involves constant standing, bending, reaching, and pulling. AND

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

You must meet the screen-out element, Ability to Provide Production Support Services (Screen-out), normally addressed at the beginning of the online questions.   • The facility typically shuts down annually between Christmas and New Year's Day. As such, all BEP employees must take leave for workdays during the shutdown period.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
