  • Must be a level C SERE school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must comply with and successfully complete initial and recurring psychological evolutions.
  • Must travel by government or personal vehicle (personal vehicle at own expense) to the remote training site approximately 25 times annually.
  • You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
  • Shall maintain a high level of physical readiness and be in excellent physical condition with no conditions which would limit full participation in any phase of SERE training.
  • The incumbent in this billet shall complete a Cardiovascular Endurance Test (CET) semiannually. The CET will consist of a 2-mile hike with a 30-pound pack over level terrain and shall be completed in less than 30 minutes.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. 1) Applying principles and techniques of education as a course instructor to personnel or customers of all levels within a classroom or field setting; 2) Researching course material to verify currency, adequacy, and accuracy of course instruction and training; 3) Presenting standardized lectures on all aspects of Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) in a classroom environment and supervising practical application instruction and exercises under field conditions at remote training site; and 4) Installing, configuring, operating, disassembling, and troubleshooting audio visual equipment needed for classroom/field courses.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related

Additional information

Must be able to work non-standard flexible hours to include overtime, nights, weekends,
and holidays.

Work is performed primarily in an office or classroom environment and outdoors at the
Redington Training Facility (RTF) for field exercises, resistance training and watch
standing duties in extreme weather.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
