Duties

Help

As an F-16 AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC (FUEL) SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-8268-10, you will:

  • Perform leak checks of aircraft fuel systems by visual inspection or by removal of panels
  • Repair, reassemble, and install fuel system components
  • Perform operational and functional checks to insure proper operation
  • Participate in various types of readiness evaluations

  • All New Jersey National Guard members (M-Day, Traditional, Active Guard Reserve, and Drill-Status Guardsmen)

Military Grades: A1C/ E-3 to TSGT/ E-6

Compatible Military Assignments: 2A654


Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Qualifications

General Experience:
Experience or training which demonstrates your knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles; knowledge of troubleshooting procedures used to isolate malfunctions in aircraft pneudraulic fuel systems; and ability to use technical manuals, equipment specifications, and test calibration procedures in performing the work.

Specialized Experience:
Must at least 18 months of specialized experience which demonstrates basic electrical and mechanical principles.

  • Fabricating fuel, oil, and vacuum hose lines
  • Servicing, maintaining, disassembling assembling, repairing, and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Diagnosing trouble and determining remedies
  • Mechanic repairs using hand tools and test equipment
  • Demonstrating the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications and publications
