Help

The primary purpose of this position is to inspect aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and performs fluid analysis.

(1) Determines test method and prepares fluids and parts for nondestructive inspection.
(2) Performs nondestructive inspection on structures, components, and systems.
(3) Applies magnetic particle and/or liquid penetrant inspection to detect and interpret the relevancy of flaws in a variety of parts.
(4) Uses and maintains tools.
(5) Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Primary consideration will be given to current WY ANG military members. If required, additional areas of consideration certificates may be released to hiring managers.
Open to Air Force, AF Reserves, and Air Nat'l Guard military members only.
Must become a member of the Wyoming Air Nat'l Guard before appt.
Must submit vMPF Rip/Data Verification Rip with application.
Refer to Required Documents section for additional details and links.
Must possess AFSC 2A7X2, Nondestructive Inspection.
May be required to successfully complete a 1-year trial/probationary period.
Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT).
Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses.

Acceptance of a permanent or indefinite position will cause termination from the Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP) and TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS).
Recruitment/Relocation Incentive MAY BE authorized, if eligible. Subject to funding and TAG approval.
PCS is not authorized in lieu of incentives.
Military Technicians in the excepted service will wear the appropriate uniform while performing as a technician.
Veteran's preference does not apply to National Guard Technician positions in accordance with Title 32 USC 709(f).

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. Required to possess a valid operator's license to drive a motor vehicle to and from work sites.
2. Required to obtain an appropriate clearance to perform the work in sensitive areas.
3. Required to perform annual task evaluations on each inspection duty in order to maintain certification.

Qualifications

AREAS OF CONSIDERATION:
Primary consideration will be made from Areas 1, 2 and 4. If referrals are not made from the target category, subsequent referrals may next be made from Area 6 (if eligible).

Area 1: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming National Guard (NG) WY ANG employees assigned to the 153 MXS.
Area 2: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming Air National Guard (ANG) T32 Dual Status technicians employed within the Wyoming Air National Guard.
Area 4: All current military members of the Wyoming Air National Guard.
Area 6: Current and prior service military members to include the US Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and other states' Air National Guard units. Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Air National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must possess experience or training which demonstrates the ability to set up and operate test equipment, use test apparatus to apply tests to material or products, record readings, observe and record established reactions, and classify according to defined categories.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience or training in using ultrasonic and/or eddy current inspection techniques to observe, measure, and detect discontinuities and flaws. Experience classifying test results, identifying material deficiencies and recommending courses of action for items of equipment. Experience recommending engine components to be inspected and forwarding results to the appropriate authority. Experience performing scheduled inspections of testing equipment ensuring compliance with established technical regulations and procedures.

NOTE: Minimum Requirements and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. Applicants must provide from (e.g., 02/2014 - 03/2016 or Feb 2014 - Mar 2016) dates and hours worked per week with description of your specialized experience on the resume.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.

COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS:
Must possess AFSC 2A7X2, Nondestructive Inspection.

DRIVER'S LICENSE:
Must possess a valid driver's license.
