Duties

Help
  • Responsible for the warehousing operation at a hydroelectric power plant facility involving a combination of functions such as receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping.
  • Responsible for warehouse operation at a hydroelectric power plant facility involving replenishment of stock, spare parts, and equipment as well as property accountability functions
  • Establishes item locations, determining organization and arrangement of stock, and identifying high and low usage items according to agency regulations and procedures.
  • Packs, unpacks, sorts, stacks, stores, and moves items and makes in-storage checks for obvious need for maintenance, vermin control, and damage.
  • Determines whether materials are durable, expendable, or non-expendable and identify property items that require bar coding under the automated inventory system.
  • Prepares applicable forms and conduct annual property inventory using bar code scanners and uploading data to the automated inventory system.
  • Responsible for receipt, storage, and handling of hazardous materials under the guidance of the Environmental Compliance Coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Materials Handler (Direct Hire Authority) without more than normal supervision. Under normal supervision, you must have the ability to perform several of the following warehousing duties: collecting, receiving, storing, selecting, issuing, transporting, and shipping of materials and supplies for a large facility. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Efforts: Stands, stoops, bend and works in tiring and uncomfortable positions. May be required to work at a rapid pace for prolonged periods. Frequently lifts and carries material weighing up to 45 pounds, and at times may handle items weighing over 45 pounds.

Working Conditions: Works inside and outside. Subject to heat, cold, dampness, draftiness, and poorly lighted areas. May work on open docks or in storage yards. Work may be dirty, dusty, greasy. Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts
