Help

As a(n) Management Analyst within Nevada Water Science Center, some of your specific duties will include:

  • Analyze HR targets, travel, materials and related requirements, and provide budgetary data and other information for use in planning and evaluation activities.
  • Review budgetary and program data, workload efforts, and staffing requests.
  • Serve as liaison to campus managers on issues related to facilities, security, safety and employee access.
  • Make policy recommendations to management.
  • Identifies problems in administrative operations, using quantitative methods.
  • Research current or new management practices for possible application to programs or operations.

Qualifications

For GS-07: Applicants must meet one of the following to qualify:

Possess one year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-5 level in the Federal service.

Examples of GS-5 level work include: analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gathering pertinent data, and recognizing solutions regarding programs and functions; planning and organizing work; and communicating effectively orally and in writing.

**OR applicants may substitute successful completion of one full year of graduate level education which provided the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of a Management Analyst.

For GS-09: Applicants must meet one of the following to qualify:

One year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-7 level in the Federal service.

Examples of GS-7 level work include assisting in: 1) Research and investigations of new and improved business and management practices; 2) development of management and program evaluation plans, procedures, and methodology; 3) management surveys to determine compliance with regulations, procedures, sound management practices and effective utilization of staff. This level of work typically involved following established methods and procedures or detailed instructions; using some judgment in applying analytical techniques; solving minor problems and making routine decisions.

**OR applicants may substitute successful completion of 2 years of progressively higher-level graduate education or master's or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.B or J.D if related). (36 semester hours, 54 quarter hours, or the equivalent).
