Help

As a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist, you will:

  • Serve as a principal advisor to the HRO leadership on matters related to human resources management and human resource services provided by the various office overseen by this position.
  • Establish, revise, or review policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff, as necessary to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, promote team building, implement quality improvements, or in response to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements.
  • Establish measurement and analysis systems for divisions managed to assess efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory procedures.
  • Direct, coordinate, and oversee work through subordinate supervisors and team leaders

  • Supervisory position: Yes, Since this is a supervisory position, candidates must also have demonstrated or shown the potential to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities. A supervisory probationary period may be required. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 level of difficulty and responsibility in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph.

Specialized experience is experience at or equivalent to which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience planning and carrying out personnel activities in the area of recruitment; establishing and maintaining recruitment networks and alliances; developing recruitment training; implementing short and long-term recruitment and marketing strategies; organizing workload; and leading projects.


Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
