DUTY 1: As a working leader, performs non-supervisory duties such as: Passing on to other workers instructions and directions received from the supervisor; working along with other workers and setting the pace; demonstrating work methods when necessary; obtaining needed information or decisions from supervisor on problems that come up during the workday; checking work of other workers to ensure adherence to supervisors instructions; informing supervisor of those present for duty on a daily basis; and reporting to supervisor on overall work operations and problems. DUTY 2: Operates one or more types of heavy equipment to excavate, backfill, grade, or level earth to rough specifications on such projects as breaking new ground for trails, roads, airfields, or other construction sites.

DUTY 3: Operates boom cranes in a variety of areas in doors and out where maneuverability could be limited and precise load placement can be critical.

DUTY 4: Plans the position of the crane to provide for maximum freedom of movement and the greatest possible lifting capacity.

DUTY 5: Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.

DUTY 6: Uses and maintains tools and equipment.

In the event a permanent employee is accepted for this indefinite position, there will be a change in his/her tenure from permanent to indefinite.
