This position is located at AASF #1 in Phoenix, Arizona. The purpose of the position is to administer and maintain Aircraft Computer Notebook System (ACN) at the AASF. Position provides guidance to users in the daily operation and maintenance of the Aircraft Computer Notebook System (ACN) system and serves as the point of contact between the AASF and external supporting organizations (e.g., Combat Service Support Automation Management Office AVCRAD, National Guard).

  • ARIZONA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. Prior to appointment into this position, selectee must be a current member of the Arizona Army National Guard, in a military organization supported by the AASF #1.
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours.
  • Recruitment, Relocation, or Retention Incentive may be offered and is subject to availability of funds.
  • Must be COMPTIA Security+ certified within 12 months of appointment.

Qualifications

Military Grades: SPC/CPL/E4 - SSG/E6

Compatible Military Assignments:
Possess one of the following MOS:
15 Series MOS (excluding 15P and 15Q)
92 Series MOS

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months experience maintaining continuity of production control; coordinating work load priorities and scheduling multiple requirements. Experience applying optional methods to new or developmental requirements and provide for program dependencies and priorities. Experience identifying computer requirements or techniques associated with the development and design of data processing systems. Experience in planning and programming requirements related to computer systems or applications.

Education

You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics):

1. Detailed knowledge of ACN systems, hardware and software, and how they interconnect in and between normal, variable, and different operating conditions and systems (DOD, MSDOS, etc) in the AASF and AVCRAD to accomplish duties.

2. Extensive knowledge of computer equipment, internal computer processes, and application and utility programs.

3. Knowledge of a wide range of analytical and diagnostic methods, procedures, and principles to identify system failures, take corrective actions to resume normal operations, and implement procedures to allow for partial use until problems are resolved.

4. Knowledge of the codes, abbreviations and terms used in the ACN system program and the order needed to acquire, interpret and resolve problems based on information derived from ACN system reports.

5. Knowledge of job priorities, rules and scheduling procedures in order to align and adjust schedules in accordance with functional program priorities when work schedules are re-aligned.
