Duties

Help
  • Administer service contracts for the project, such as janitorial service, refuse collection, mowing, grounds maintenance, pesticide application, etc.
  • In consultation with the Operations Manager, Natural Resource Management Specialist and Maintenance Leader, determines extent and scope of work to be contracted and develops specifications for inclusion in service contracts.
  • Develop, negotiates and administers small construction and supply contracts.
  • Assist in the requisition and acquisition of materials, parts, equipment, and other items necessary for the operation and maintenance of the project.
  • Monitor dam, rim dikes, berms and abutments for signs of stress in accordance with the requirements of the Dam Safety Plan.
  • Serve as point of contact for District Office in regards to dam safety.
  • Act as field level Safety Officer that assures the project is adhering to EM385-1-1 and Corps of Engineers Safety and Occupational Health Management (CESOHM) Program.
  • Maintain property inventories and disposal of excess property as directed per the regulations.

  • This position requires a valid, State-issued motor vehicle drivers license.
  • This position requires a US Army Corps of Engineers boat license within 2 years of occupying the position.
  • Must obtain the Contracting Officer Representative Certification within six months of occupying the position.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5 % of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

GS-09-Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 performing contract quality assurance and oversight and experience as an organization's purchasing card holder with responsibilities of purchasing supplies and materials for project operations.

  • methods and techniques of engineering or architecture; and
  • construction, application, properties, operations, and limitations of engineering systems, processes, structures, machinery, devices, and materials.
