Administer service contracts for the project, such as janitorial service, refuse collection, mowing, grounds maintenance, pesticide application, etc.
In consultation with the Operations Manager, Natural Resource Management Specialist and Maintenance Leader, determines extent and scope of work to be contracted and develops specifications for inclusion in service contracts.
Develop, negotiates and administers small construction and supply contracts.
Assist in the requisition and acquisition of materials, parts, equipment, and other items necessary for the operation and maintenance of the project.
Monitor dam, rim dikes, berms and abutments for signs of stress in accordance with the requirements of the Dam Safety Plan.
Serve as point of contact for District Office in regards to dam safety.
Act as field level Safety Officer that assures the project is adhering to EM385-1-1 and Corps of Engineers Safety and Occupational Health Management (CESOHM) Program.
Maintain property inventories and disposal of excess property as directed per the regulations.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position requires a valid, State-issued motor vehicle drivers license.
This position requires a US Army Corps of Engineers boat license within 2 years of occupying the position.
Must obtain the Contracting Officer Representative Certification within six months of occupying the position.
This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5 % of the time.
Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
