Duties

Help

As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will:

  • Advise leadership in developing, promulgating and implementing objectives, principles, policies, procedures and standards associated with the IT Cyber Security of the Treasury Department.
  • Coordinate with the leadership team on cyber security issues and policies as they related to the Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002, OMB Circular A-130, Director of National Intelligence Directives and NIST, NSA, CNSS, security standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with government-wide and department-wide regulations in the areas of cyber security including providing guidance and assistance to the ACIO-CS management team.
  • Provide strategic direction for policy-related cyber security activities relative to ACIO-CS program areas.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to support and implement a disciplined cyber security management strategy which focuses on managing risk and optimizing cost-effectiveness for the Treasury OCIO.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

  • Leadership Experience within an enterprise cyber security environment providing guidance and support to managers and executives, such as performing risk-benefit analysis of information technology security and influencing IT security policies and programs; AND
  • Project or program management experience planning and designing IT deployments, budgeting, and/or contracting; AND
  • Experience establishing measurable performance goals to gauge quality of service and improvements over time; AND
  • Managing crisis events and balancing conflicting needs of various stakeholders while providing solutions and problem resolution, with a strong sense of commitment and drive towards customer service.
In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
  1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
