Duties

Help
  • Analyzes and evaluates work concerned with integrated systems of computer programs and/or computer equipment. Applies available technologies and basic management principles to adapt computer methods to a variety of subject matter situations.
  • Oversees/performs equipment installation or relocation, testing and acceptance processes. Responds to and resolves problems with software, hardware and systems management.
  • May evaluate vendor or employee developed software to assure that it will provide the desired results and operate properly on assigned equipment systems. Develops cost estimates for new or modified systems.
  • Performs needs analyses to define opportunities for new or improved business process solutions. Conducts business process reengineering.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: understanding the federal government acquisitions process; utilizes the Microsoft Office suite of products to include SharePoint Online, Microsoft Excel, and pivot tables and charts; hosting and leading cross-organizational meetings for collaborative and fact-finding purposes; skills with information system licensing schemas and strategies; performing business process reengineering to increase efficiency and reduce bottlenecks and redundancies; utilizing cloud service provider technologies and the billing processes implemented by them; techniques with business intelligence strategies to expand and refine Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); and past experience with working under tight deadlines and collaborating with stakeholders to expedite items presenting a schedule risk.

  • Customer Service - experience maintaining relationships with customers, assessing current information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products and services that are tailored to meet customer needs
  • Oral Communication -briefing mid-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide a number of potential solutions.
