Duties

Help
  • Maintains, archives, creates, reproduces, and disposes of Patent Legal Services (PLS) contract master level documentation and records.
  • Provides technical assistance for Help Desk (Tier 1) requests that impact patent and law firm records within the centralized patent management database and portal.
  • Serves as Administrative Lead for Law Firm Portal (LFP) support, communications, and on-boarding of law firm users.
  • Maintains quality control procedures, redactions, and editing of adverse event reports generated through the centralized patent management database.
  • Leads in gathering input from ICs (through the use of survey tools, MS Forms, Word documents, etc.) on PLS law firm performance to rate law firms for yearly CPARS reporting and to monitor performance requirements.
  • Applies advanced patent management principles and concepts, technology transfer methods, and data analysis techniques to perform recurring assignments.
  • Researches, plans, schedules, and conducts, independently or as a team member, a variety of special projects of complex scope and scale and/or specialized portions of larger program projects.
  • Conducts end-user training for matters relating to the PLS contract within the centralized patent management system.

Qualifications

You qualify at the GS-13 level if you meet the following qualification requirements:

You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: Supporting end users in matters relating to the entire technology transfer process; tracking and recording law firm performance associated with the Patent Legal Services (PLS) contract including gathering input from an the organization's Technical Representatives and Contracting Representatives; providing technical assistance for IT Help Desk (Tier 1) requests impacting patent prosecution workflow within the patent management system and the portal that the law firms utilize to submit task order estimates and correspondence (e.g. patent filing deadline reminders and patent status updates, deliverables, invoices); acting as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for patent management and IT system related issues; leading the PLS and patent management-related IT systems training a Technology Transfer community; developing training programs for different user roles, developing train-the-trainer programs for an organization; and identifying new tools and methods within the industry to promote cutting edge training for all end users.

  • This position is eligible for local remote work, a position designation where onsite presence is required only on an irregular or infrequent basis, not to exceed two days or 16 hours every two weeks.
