Duties

Help
  • Responsible for planning, producing, and directing informational, instructional, and other television programs for closed-circuit and/or other distribution in accordance with requirements and within budgetary guidelines.
  • Produce videotaped programs related to the mission of the organization and/or NIH.
  • Develop the visual elements necessary to support the script.
  • Conceives and coordinate design of original aids to be used in the production.
  • Direct actions of participants during set-up, rehearsal and actual production of programs and recording.
  • Operate highly specialized and/or state-of-the art photographic equipment, such as digital cameras, high-speed cameras, special film, and wired or photoelectric triggering mechanisms to adapt to unusual or unconventional photographic circumstances.

Qualifications

You qualify at the GS-9 level, if you meet the following qualification requirements:

You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: assisting in producing informational or instructional audio/video programs and products; editing videotape to combine visual and audio elements; producing automated sound/slide shows to inform and educate; operating a variety of specialized photographic equipment; and translating script into audio and visual elements.

EDUCATION: Successful completed 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree, or a master's degree in photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position.

-OR-
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of graduate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.

You qualify at the GS-11 level, if you meet the following qualification requirements:

You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: planning informational or instructional audio/video programs and products for an organization; coordinating audio/video production, including shooting, recording, document layout and formatting; operating a variety of specialized photographic equipment; and translating script into audio and visual elements.

: Completed 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or have received such a degree with major study in photography, radio or television production, motion picture productions, or other field related to the position

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of graduate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
