Writes, prepares, and hosts/announces news-related stories for use in radio, television, social media, websites, mobile phones, and TV postings and presents with a microphone and/or cameras as required in a studio or on location.
Conceives of stories that would be of interest to the Haitian audience and submits story ideas to service management. Researches and sets up multimedia stories for coverage.
Prepares integrated, highly targeted, well-balanced scripts, or radio and television programs and internet/web presentations that capture the attention of the audience.
Interviews various sources such as area experts, newspapers, or magazine organizations to obtain information on area topics and activities. Makes sure sources are reliable as possible when writing, editing, and announcing feature stories using cameras for radio, TV, social media, or mobile phones for broadcasts.
Operates as a team member, sharing responsibilities in all areas of broadcasting. Works with set designers, other producers, journalists, and coworkers to produce a final product.
Prepares his/her assignments quickly and thoroughly to meet deadlines and conform to professional standards.
Uses his/her thorough knowledge of Haiti and its landscape and surrounding territories in order to write, research, and broadcast to these regions and the U.S. about Haiti with skill and broad knowledge.

Qualifications
Screen-Out Factor: Applicants must have fluency in Creole and English languages in order to speak, read, write, report, and translate in both languages. This language screen-out factor MUST be listed in your resume to receive consideration.
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level that is related to this position and was gained in the public, private, or federal sectors. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Uses professional techniques of broadcast journalism required for conducting radio and television interviews and skill in quickly and carefully preparing radio, television, and web packages and stories;
Extensive or wide-ranging experience preparing, anchoring, and/or voicing new and feature materials in a studio or on location for radio, television, social media, mobile phones, and internet broadcasts;
Thorough comprehension of Haiti's history and culture and awareness of political and social developments; and
Ability to establish effective work relationships and skill in working with not only team members and colleagues, but also with groups or individuals providing information or interviews on program work topics.
