Duties

Help
  • Prepare cost estimates for in-house purchases and service contract cost estimates for complete routine conventional projects and services of relatively limited scope or portions of larger and more diverse projects.
  • Prepare government cost estimates on Invitations For Bids (IFBs), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and Change Orders.
  • Prepare planning and engineering design cost estimates, i.e., feasibility, baseline estimate, General Design Memoranda (GDM), and Feature Design Memoranda (FDM).
  • Administer both Micro and Above Micro Purchase Limit (AMPL) service and purchase contracts, to include contract development, inspections, payment and reporting.
  • Prepare and maintain electronic reports utilizing supply and equipment management procedures and General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS), resource management, and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel).
  • Use familiarity with a variety of trades and shop operations such as electrical, carpentry, pipefitting, painting, etc., to translate knowledge into work scheduling.

In Service Applicants: One year of specialized experience which includes manage cost estimates; create and/or track purchase requests; and use automated systems such as General Funds Enterprise Business System (GFEBS). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Other Applicants: One year of specialized experience which includes manage cost estimates; create and/or track purchase requests or work orders; conduct inspection of services for contracts and purchases; and use automated systems such as General Funds Enterprise Business System (GFEBS). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
