Summary
You will serve as an Interdisciplinary Engineer or Scientist in the Machinery Control Systems (LPD, LXR, OBT, New System Development) branch Code 511, under the Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) Control Systems Division (Code 51) of the Cybersecure HM&E Control Systems and Networks Department (Code 50) of Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division (NSWC PHILA DIV).
You will serve as a senior Platform Independent Machinery Control System (PIMCS) Design Specialist and will provide technical oversight for the design, development, test and installation of new Navy Shipboard Machinery Control/Monitoring systems.
You will lead software/hardware design and development efforts and will serve as the point of contact for all project technical issues.
You will define objectives and priorities and will plan and initiate technical activities, programs and projects to meet Navy's requirements.
You will monitor and control information systems strategies, test design, advice, consultation and review services to all levels of NSWCPD management and technical personnel.
You will provide shipboard and test site/facility expertise to develop plans and resolve critical problems.
You will develop new systems testing schemes or methods.
You will serve as technical lead for the establishment of new sources of work.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled by a Mechanical Engineer (0830-series), an Electrical Engineer (0850-series), a Computer Engineer (0854-series), an Electronics Engineer (0855-series) or a Computer Scientist (1550-series) depending upon the qualifications of the candidate.
