Duties

Help

As a IT Specialist (INFOSEC) (Zero Trust Security Architect), you will:

  • Define and manage the strategic direction, program initiatives and implementation of the bureau's ZTA.
  • Analyze network systems and develop technical documentation. Develop network system design and optimization recommendation.
  • Define and apply principles, theories, and use cases of common ZTA approach to include purpose (duty to protect), mission need (risk assessment), and controls (design controls to protect) throughout the planning, programming, budgeting, and execution (PPBE) cycle.
  • Develop ZTA design requirements through sound design methodology, adequate security control application, and effective configuration practices.

Selectees living outside the Washington, D.C. locality pay area will have their duty station listed as their home address. The locality pay you receive will be determined by your duty station: CFPB Headquarters (Washington, D.C.), or home address if located outside the D.C. locality pay area.

Key Requirements:

  • Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the announcement's closing date.

Specialized Experience for CN-60: To qualify at CN-60 you must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade/band (CN-53, GS-13 or equivalent) in the Federal service. For this position specialized experience is defined as:

- Contributing to or assisting with the defining, planning, designing, and documenting an enterprise Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) that is aligned with IT strategy and agency mission, goals, structure, and processes; AND
- Analyzing as-is network, identity and data architecture, and developing technical documentation; AND
- Identifying IT security standards and requirements for IT systems and infrastructure and providing oversight for the implementation of IT security standards and requirements.

In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
