Duties

Help
  • You will be responsible for advising and assisting subordinate Commanding Officers (COs) on all issues pertaining to the command Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) Program.
  • You will be responsible for defining command DEIA program budget requirements and developing the required input to the command's budget planning and programming process (i.e., DEIA Training, Diversity Advisory Teams, etc.).
  • You will develop and communicate key metrics and benchmarks to drive transparency and accountability and to measure progress on DEIA initiatives.
  • You will assist the Director of Equal Employment Opportunity in preparing the annual MD-715 report and are responsible for identifying strategies to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
  • You will be responsible for setting and executing short and long-term strategies that ensure employees have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge around mission-critical elements of DEIA.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band DP-03 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in developing and interpreting metrics to ensure accountability, tracking and/or monitoring; Providing policy or oversight of equal employment opportunity and inclusion; Experience providing advice and guidance to senior level leaders or management; Working internally and externally to strengthen Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility; Analytical and management skills in planning, organizing, implementing, and advising on diversity, equity and inclusion studies; and experience conducting outreach to various entities such as educational institutions, professional organizations, academic institutions, and other diverse networks.

This position is in the Personnel Demonstration Project under authority of Title VII of the Civil Service Reform Act of 1978.

The pay schedule and pay band for all Demonstration Project Professional Positions will be DP-1/2/3/4.

DP-04, TIER-3 - SAN DIEGO, CA SALARY STATEMENT: Your salary will be set according to the established control points of this position which is $131,889 - $158,264 (Base $99,908 - $119,888 plus 32.01% locality adjustment).

This position is telework eligible as determined by the agency policy.

A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may or may not be authorized.

Recruitment incentives may or may not be authorized to eligible new hires.


This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
