Duties

Help

As a PROGRAM MANAGEMENT OFFICER, you will:

  • Serve as a principal advisor to LP and other officials on Presidential Library programs and serves as a visible representative of the National Archives and Records Administration.
  • Assure compliance with federal laws and regulations in Library administration, museum programs, and archival programs.
  • You will set general policy for the operation of the archives and museum, including acquisition, preservation, processing, and reference.
  • You will develop public information strategy and budgets.

The education or experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.   • A one year probationary period may be required.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience for the GS-14: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes ALL of the following:

  • Managing and caring for museum and archival collections. Examples of this may include developing, storing, and preserving collections/artifacts and/or ensuring exact temperature and humidity standards are monitored and maintained.
AND
  • Creating or delivering educational content using archival and museum collections to promote the use of those collections to the public.
AND
  • Representing an organization by making appearances at events, thereby making connections with constituents.
