As a BASE SERVICES SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), GS-0301-7/9, you will analyze and coordinate Base Services functions in support of federal, state, and local missions.

Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list:

  • Maintain thorough understanding of readiness reporting requirements and provide documentation of relevant sustainment services training statistics to applicable monitors for inclusion in associated reports.
  • Oversee the verification of contract requirements, invoicing, and validation of contract completion requirements.
  • Oversee the development, management, and implementation of a variety of safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance as mandated by federal, state, and local agencies including Air Force, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
  • Provide input to local operating instructions, checklists, and annexes to plans.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the base Mortuary Affairs Program.
  • Serve as the Quality Assurance Evaluator (QAE) performing quality management, quality assurance and quality control measures to include external and internal audit activities particularly associated with the acquisition and sustainment of Services facilities and equipment repair.
  • Collaborate with Unit Training and Deployment Managers to identify, schedule, conduct, and document Services specific training and align priorities with wing requirements to ensure all objectives are fulfilled.
  • Accept, coordinate, and track reservations consistent with wing policy and in accordance with Blanket Purchase Agreement stipulations and fiscal standards.
  • Prepare, provide, and track survivor assistance program training to wing leadership.
  • Identify and forecast Services formal training needs and provide related financial data for inclusion in financial plan.
  • Analyze historical data to develop subsistence requisitions in accordance with Air Force and Air National Guard standards.
  • Provide input into creation and revision of base lodging operating instruction and applicable checklists or guides.

Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence:

  • The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG.
  • The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees.
  • The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible.
  • The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership.
  • The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens.


Military Grades: Enlisted Only - May not exceed the rank of SMSgt.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration; compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information; progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled; and experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09 Level - MUST possess specialized experience which includes 12 months experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level; experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled; a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management; and experience developing administrative procedures. GS-07 Level - MUST possess specialized experience which includes 12 months of experience, education or training compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information; the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled; and experience interpreting regulations, policies or law and providing guidance.

In order to be considered qualified, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in Federal service.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

If you are using Education to qualify for this position, successful completion of 1 full year of graduate level education OR superior academic achievement meets the GS-07 level requirements. A master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level education leading to such a degree meets the GS-09 level requirements.

You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
