Duties

Help

As an IT Specialist (Web Designer), you will:

  • Develop and maintain the information architecture of the public website and web applications including navigation elements, user flows, wireframes, sitemaps, and other related artifacts.
  • Serve as an expert in Section 508 and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) ensuring full compliance of OFR with these current and emerging standards.
  • Incorporate and extend existing OFR branding into new Digital Media assets to best express the mission, values, and other essential attributes of the organization online.
  • Lead technical implementation of the website and web applications in HTML, CSS, and Javascript using libraries and frameworks such as jQuery, Angular, Bootstrap, and Less.
  • Review web content for public release and regularly screen website(s)/webpages to ensure removal of any information containing sensitive information, derogatory language or information that is not incompliance with OFR, US Department of the Treasury and Federal Government Internet policies.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the OR-53, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

  • Experience designing public-facing websites and web applications; AND
  • Experience with web development technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks; AND
  • Experience building and maintaining continuous integration and deployment pipelines; AND
  • Experience working with customers to analyze and refine system requirements; AND
  • Experience working with Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
  1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
