Duties

Help
  • Performs a variety of intelligence gathering and assessment activities involving highly complex programs and issues.
  • Develops finished intelligence reports containing highly complex technical information. Evaluates intelligence reports and develops intelligence and collection requirements.
  • Performs in-depth analyses of complex and significant investigative and protective intelligence issues, and reports findings to PII and Bureau leadership. Provides recommendations for specific actions to resolve issues.
  • Provides technical guidance on Office resources and requirements as it relates to protective intelligence operations and investigations support to national and international special security events.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement. 

NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement.

Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.

Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience extracting intelligence data from various sources to provide technical information for investigations.
  • Experience monitoring, reviewing, and analyzing intelligence data from multiple sources to advise on specific concerns.
  • Experience providing technical advice and guidance in the planning and execution of protective intelligence investigations and protective intelligence operations.

There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position.

  • Knowledge of Intelligence Analysis.
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques to analyze intelligence data derived from a variety of sources.
  • Knowledge of National Special Security Events and the International Security Event Group.
  • Ability to establish and maintain liaisons to plan and coordinate activities throughout the intelligence community.
  • Ability to communicate orally to convey information in a clear and concise manner.
