Incumbent performs tasks related to human resources for the SAA and serves as a point of contact for employee related benefits programs. Incumbent is required to have a working knowledge of all aspects of the division, as well as a broad understanding of the Office of the Sergeant at Arms and all applicable legal requirements, House Rules, Committee, and Sergeant at Arms policies.

Duties Include:
Work Experience and Education:
Bachelor’s degree and three or more
years’ experience relevant to this position. Experience working within the
Legislative Branch preferred. Must be able to successfully pass a
criminal history records check.
Knowledge,
Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of policies and procedures
of the House of Representatives; knowledge of the Congressional Accountability
Act; knowledge of the House Employees Position Classification Act; knowledge of
the Family Medical Leave Act; excellent organizational skills; excellent oral
communications skills; strong written communications skills; strong computer
skills to include the use of MS Office suite applications; detail oriented;
professional telephone manner; ability to listen carefully and respond in a
tactful and courteous manner to requests and inquiries from SAA staff; ability
to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee issues; ability
to work well under pressure and maintain a professional and courteous work
disposition; ability to independently make decisions while knowing when to
escalate; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
within the Congressional community; ability to identify issues, evaluate
information and make logical recommendations for resolution; able to work
outside of normal business hours when necessary.

Schedule:
Full-time,
permanent. Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:30pm. Must be able to work outside of
normal business hours when necessary, evenings and weekends as needed.
