Summary
This position is in the Division of Economic and Risk Analysis - Office of Structured Disclosure, located in Washington, DC.
If selected, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for assisting in the Commission's rulemaking efforts specifically those integrating structured disclosure in support of the SEC's ongoing priority to make disclosures more accessible and usable to investors, filers, regulators, and other market participants.
Performing advanced IT initiatives, including the coding and maintenance of IT software development projects, as a recognized IT technical subject matter expert to agency management and customers;
Identifying and developing IT requirements with internal customers and provides guidance on structured disclosure IT system upgrades;
Building and implementing the delivery of a range of IT services and software;
Reviewing and providing feedback on technical artifacts including schemas, taxonomies, rule and presentation standards, and other freely available open market standardized artifacts;
Performing XML document modeling and processing using XSL or XQuery and designing XML schema;
Performing XBRL validation, Inline XBRL documentation tagging and XBRL taxonomy editing or customization.

PROBATIONARY PERIOD: This appointment may require completion of a one-year probationary period.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. BASIC REQUIREMENT: Reviewing work to ensure it is in line with established standards or to identify deficiencies (Attention to Detail); collaborating with stakeholders to make progress towards a common goal (Customer service); explaining technical information orally to non-technical audiences (Oral Communication); and evaluating alternatives to recommend solutions to hardware or software problems (Problem Solving).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must also meet the minimum qualification requirement
SK-14: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-13 level. Specialized experience includes all of the following:
Recent experience of leading the development of information technology program activities (e.g., planning and developing requirements, analyzing and designing IT projects, testing and implementing IT systems and/or providing support for IT initiatives); and
Recent experience of providing technical guidance and support in the following fields: data management, application development; international market based information standards; tool and application assessment; rulemaking; taxonomy design, and program management.
