The FHFA Office of Inspector General (FHFA-OIG) is responsible for, among other things, conducting audits, investigations, and other activities of the programs and operations of FHFA, and recommending polices that promote economy and efficiency in the administration of, and prevent and detect fraud, waste, and abuse in, FHFA's programs and operations.
This position is in the Office of Investigations. Incumbent serves as a Digital Investigative Analyst and reports to the Special Agent-in-Charge.
Summary

This position is in the Office of Investigations. Incumbent serves as a Digital Investigative Analyst and reports to the Special Agent-in-Charge.
All candidates who are: Current or former federal employees qualifying as Status Candidates, Federal employees currently serving on a VRA, VEOA eligibles, CTAP/ICTAP eligible, eligible for special hiring authorities (e.g., the Schedule A appointment for persons with disabilities, or covered by an Interchange Agreement), or 3. Land Management employees eligible under Public Law 114-47
Serve as a technical expert in the development of investigative methods, applying specialized digital forensic knowledge in developing processes to acquire, analyze and identify digital evidence in criminal, civil, or administrative investigations involving the use of computer technology, and digital information in the commitment of crimes.
Provide digital investigative expertise and technical support for FHFA-OIG fraud investigations by preserving, collecting, and analyzing digital evidence.
Serve as a technical expert for crime scene searches concerning acquisition, preservation, and analysis of electronic evidence.
Assist the lead investigator in conducting investigations into extremely difficult, complex, highly technical, and sensitive investigations of interregional and national dimensions, particularly as they relate to computer and computerized evidence used in the commission of crimes.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency

Qualifications
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To be qualified for the EL-13 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the EL/GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
- Demonstrated experience utilizing applicable principles, procedures, and techniques to ensure digital evidence is collected, transported, and stored properly; AND
- Demonstrated experience processing and analyzing digital evidence.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the EL-13, you must have been at the EL/GS-12level for 52 weeks.
