Summary
This position is in support of the Family Advocacy Program which supports clinical and case management programming for issues related to domestic violence and child abuse.
The selectee will be required to manage confidentiality related to client care and manage all correspondence with executive leadership of Naval Base Kitsap and its tenant commands. This position provides wide range of support and assistance that is in direct support of programs, administrative and management functions within the Fleet and Family Support Program. Additionally, the employee delivers information and referral services to clients visiting or calling the FFSC. Receives telephone calls, greets visitors, and ascertains the nature of the calls or visits. Personaly answers substantive requests for information, which can be provided based on information from records and files or personal knowledge of services available. Maintain database with walk-in, call-in client statistics and provide date for monthly, quarterly, etc., reports. Maintains and inputs a statistical record of contacts into FFSMIS in a timely manner. Responds to inquiries by clarifying needs through appropriate questions and comments designed to develop necessary facts and by developing responses/solutions based on employee's knowledge and experience in problem solving. Conducts follow-up to ensure inquirer's needs are met, either by the employee and/or other offices/agencies to which the inquirer was referred. Prepares a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring correspondence, reports, and other documents. Reviews and processes incoming and outgoing correspondence, materials, publications, regulations, and directives. Maintains staff calendars, coordinates meeting arrangements, and schedules meetings and/or conferences. Provides advice and guidance to FFSP staff and other clerical personnel on administrative, clerical, and procedural requirements and instructions, and assists in solving problems to which existing guidelines can be applied. Uses office automation software with varied functions to produces a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, editing and reformatting electronic drafts, and updating or revising existing databases or spreadsheets. Develops methods and procedures for office automation tasks, identifies and solves problems in existing methods or procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Knowledge of the policies, regulations, procedures, and reporting requirements governing the programs of the FFSC. Knowledge of the military lifestyle, the unique challenges faced by service members/families and the array of services available to address these issues either through work assignment or life experience as a military sponsor, military dependent or similar. Formal education, training or at least six months work experience in the field of human services including military or community-based human service agencies and programs. Skill in communicating with clients to obtain factual information and explain regulations and agency procedures and other organizations involved. Proficiency in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and format to prepare and edit written correspondence and reports. Experience with various office automation software to include Microsoft Office products.
