Duties

Help
  • Provide calibration traceable through the Army Calibration Laboratory and Army Primary Standards Laboratory to the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
  • Provide information on test, measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) accuracy's and uncertainties under a variety of conditions.
  • Perform repairs incidental to calibration as required by equipment specifications.
  • Prepare test and certification reports for customer use, providing specific information such as assigned values, corrections, and uncertainties.
  • Assist and advise users in the instrument application, measurement accuracy, and recommended calibration requirements for TMDE in support of their mission.
  • Serve, as the workload dictates, as a specialist in the physical/dimensional measurement areas including radiac.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A pre-appointment physical may be required due to frequent moderate to heavy lifting requirements up to 50 LBS.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) travel may be required up to 25% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator without more than normal supervision. Perform common measurement equipment calibration tasks such as collecting, reducing, displaying, analyzing data, and providing metrology information for a wide variety of general purpose test, measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
