Duties

Help
  • Directly support the bureau's public website that utilizes the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP and Drupal), ensures greater than 99.99% uptime and timely data releases.
  • System administration of internal Linux servers, manages credentials, disk space, analyzes and interprets log information and remediates vulnerabilities.
  • Manage Microsoft Azure cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) resources, maximize cost/ performance ratio.
  • Document Linux systems, administration procedures, policies and procedures, data security standards.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: Band IV: Applicant must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to or at the lower band/grade level, Band III (GS-12) in the federal service. Specialized Experience is defined as all of the below: Directly supporting a primary public-facing website for an organization, and hold an active Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) certification. This experience must include experience directly supporting each of the following applications Apache web server, MySQL databases, PHP open-source scripting language, and Drupal content management.ANDExperience

Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.

For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

  1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Education: Education cannot be substituted for this band/grade level.
