Duties

Help
  • Serves as the Director of Operations for the White House Situation Room and performs a full range of supervisory duties across the Watch Floor, including managing a staff of subordinates; planning, directing, and assigning work responsibilities.
  • Provides strategic guidance and oversight on production of products provided to senior leaders, standardizes reporting thresholds, monitors the quality and timeliness of disseminating key reporting, and delivers feedback to the Watch Floor.
  • Oversees the coordination and execution of secure communications with foreign heads of state and heads of government.
  • Coordinates strategic and operational planning, managing a variety of priorities according to the mission and maintaining the operational schedule for the Watch Floor.
  • Develops, implements, and oversees WHSR?s crisis management and continuity of government programs and serves as WHSR?s special access program security manager.
  • Determines the organization?s goals, objectives, and resource requirements, coordinates the work with others within the organization and with other external organizations.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in developing and maintaining an operations program, while managing a staff of subordinates.

Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Additionally, prior to reporting for duty the selectee must be found eligible for a DoD Top Secret security clearance with access to Special Compartmented Information (SCI) based upon an Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).

Education

There is no substitution of education for the Qualifying Experience at the GG-14 grade level.
