Summary

Serves as a Hotel Accounting Technician in the Accounting Department of the Hale Koa Hotel.

This position is being re-announced to include a higher salary range.

2023 Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) for Honolulu, HI is 9.28%.

Duties

Help

Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of accounting documents submitted by assigned activities. Maintains assigned subsidiary ledgers for accounts receivable, accounts payable, customer deposits, unearned income, annual leave payable, equipment, prepaid items and central storeroom accounts.Determines that all lodging transactions are properly processed. Analyses and reviews reports and machine listing to assure they are in balance and in proper format and sort sequence, that accounting data is valid and that it adheres to prescribed regulatory manuals and procedures. Classifies erroneous conditions referring complex errors/problems to the hotel manager. Takes corrective action to bring reports and listings into balance. Verifies corrected copy and recommends changes in procedures to prevent a recurrence of the problem.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position

  • Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.

Qualifications

1. Work experience performing accounting support duties (accounts receivable, accounts payable, customer deposits, income audit, payroll and inventory).
2. Proficient in Microsoft Office
3. Possess intermediate to advanced Excel skills

Highly Qualifying Criteria:
- Experience with computerized accounting systems
- Working knowledge of hotel systems and operations
- Cash handling and reconciliation experience
