The purpose of this position is to perform work involved in installing, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, calibrating, aligning, and maintaining the complete electronic integrated systems on Army National Guard helicopters.
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
Military Grades: E1/PVT-E6/SSG
Compatible Military Assignments: Possess or able to obtain an MOS in the 15 series
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months of skill, knowledge, and abilities of the FWS 2610 work at the Electronic Equipment Test Facility (EETF) of an Aviation Classification Repair Activity Depot (AVCRAD). Competencies and experiences must include abilities and skills to inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, align, modify, calibrate and certify the test stations, and their peripherals, support equipment and associated subsystems. Skilled in using the stations to test, troubleshoot, modify, align, repair, maintain, and certify integrated avionics systems and major components of these systems. Skilled in analyzing performance, testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, identifying and isolating malfunctions, disassembles, modifies or repairs, reassembles, and aligns the test stations and their associated peripherals. Capabilities and experiences include work with complex interrelated variables that arise from a mix of computer hardware and software; and, special purpose test subsystems. Skilled in analyzing malfunctions using schematics, logic and wiring diagrams, programming tables, computer program flow charts, software user guides, computer program listings and factory drawings. Skilled in diagnosing circuit operating characteristics using computer query, system peculiar test equipment, and computer diagnostics. Experienced in isolating problems to the failing component or part of a component by using self-test diagnostics, oscilloscopes, frequency meters, signal generators, digital, and differential voltmeters, computer registers and printouts, other special and standard tools and test equipment. Skilled in removing and replacing components or assemblies down to the smallest bit, piece, or module authorized, using special and common hand tools, soldering devices and special electronic instruments. Experienced in modifying and updating support equipment and software according to applicable technical publications. Capable to analyze program data and determine if the criteria is sufficient to provide adequate testing and troubleshooting. Experienced in identifying recurring malfunctions and software deficiencies and determining testing voids and initiating corrective actions by writing and submitting quality deficiency reports, software deficiency reports, or proposed modifications. Work experience included repair procedures based on findings and recommends program changes, procedural changes, or data corrections to correct software deficiencies. Skilled in testing equipment to interface the test station system to the aircraft system to facilitate maintenance/repair of line replaceable units (LRU) from the avionics systems including radar, fire control, instrument, flight control, inertial navigation, malfunction analysis and recording equipment systems. Knowledgeable in determining whether failures are caused by the unit under test (UUT), the test station, or the test program. Capable and skilled in identifying malfunctions in the UUT or the test station. Competent to isolate specific component(s); disassemble and repair these components by replacing solid state devices, micro-miniature modules, gyros, sensors, transducers, and any other required parts. Skilled in assembling components, after repairs are accomplished and able to perform operational tests. Should have experiences as a flight crew member for the purpose of diagnosing and recording malfunctions, or otherwise determining maintenance and repair requirements. Experienced in providing instructional training to other mechanics in regard to the repair of computer controlled automatic test equipment, line replaceable units and aircraft integrated systems. Experiences included participation in various types of readiness evaluations such as, Operational Readiness Evaluations (ORE), Command Logistics Readiness Inspections (CLRT-X), and Aviation Resource Management Surveys. May have experiences in performing additional duties such as, structural firefighting, aircraft handling, heavy equipment operation, and maintenance of facilities and equipment, or served as a member of a team to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies. Knowledgeable in safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations.

1. 1. Ability to apply electronic theories and practices to identify, isolate and repair malfunctions in one or more complex integrated systems where knowledge of the entire system is necessary to interpret error data and trace back through a number of units of the system to locate deficiencies.
2. Knowledge of electronic theories and practices of integrated electronic, optical, and mechanical systems of such applications as digital or analog computers, digital display devices which enables the incumbent to understand and predict the effects of subsystem malfunctions on the total function system.
3. Experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions of electronic integrated systems equipment.
4. Experience which demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications and publications.
