Duties

Help

The primary purpose of this position is to perform on and off equipment maintenance on aircraft egress systems, such as aircraft ejection seats, extraction and escape systems, egress components of jettison canopies, explosive components of escape hatches and doors, and egress trainers. Troubleshoots, installs, removes, repairs. modifies, adjusts, inspects, and tests each components as regulators, flow indicators, actuator motors, thruster and positioning mechanisms, seat actuators, catapult guide rails, ejection seats, rocket packs, and canopies, etc. Inspects pressurization system air pressure gauges for sufficient pressure and bottles and regulators for general condition and serviceability. Performs installation, modification, and repair of aircraft egress systems. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations such as ORI, IC and UE inspections, mobility, and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must hold the grade of E-4 thru E-6.
  • Compatible Military Assignment: 2A653 or 2A673 AFSC or able to obtain it within one year of hire.
  • Submit all required documentation.
  • For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Relocation Incentive is available for only current federal employees. Will need a current appraisal in good standing.
  • Eligible for a relocation incentive, the employee must have an appraisal from the prior with that?s a 3 or higher.
  • Recruitment Incentive is for employees newly appointed to a position or following a break in service of at least 90 days.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E-4 thru E-6

Compatible Military Assignments: 2A653 or 2A673 AFSC or able to obtain it within one year of hire

1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position.

Must have at least 18 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following:
1. Experience in planning and layout of repair sequence and ability to complete modification, repair and installation of ordnance systems.

2. Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions and determining remedy where complex relationships exist.

3. Experience in hand tools and a limited number of measuring equipment.

4. Experience in the use of a variety of test equipment.

5. Experience in interpreting technical directions, blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams and manufacturer's specifications.

Relocation and Recruitment Incentives
Eligibility:

  • Recruitment-Employee newly appointedto a position or following a break in service of at least 90 days.
  • Relocation-Current employee who relocates to accept a position in a new geographic area. If you are eligible for a relocation incentive, the employee must have an appraisal from the prior with that's a 3 or higher.

Payments: Up to 25% of the annual rate of basic pay as of the beginning of the service period (includes locality pay/special rate supplement) multiplied by number of years (and fractions) covered by the service agreement. Subject to availability of funds and must be approved by TAG.

Education

Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.

8. Per ARNG-HRH Policy Memorandum #10-39, mandatory Full Time Staff (FTS) training is required within a year of hire as a condition of employment in vacancy announcements for both Technician and Active Guard Reserve positions. Failure of new FTS personnel to complete NGB prescribed courses at PEC within the first year of employment may be cause for reassignment to other full time positions or termination of their employment.
9. Current COANG Technicians and AGRs hired for a position in which an MCR is required will remain in their current status unless/until the MCR is approved. In the event the MCR is not approved, they are accepting the position in their current status.
