Duties

Help
  • Perform difficult and responsible work in support of the organization?s automated systems training program.
  • Prepare training agenda, handouts, charts and reports, as necessary.
  • Prepare class rosters, graduation certificates, transcripts, relief/recycle packages and additional student status actions.
  • Conduct formal and informal briefings for audiences, which include new staff and faculty, on topics related to customer services, training student management and organization procedures.

  • Work may occasionally require 5% travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
  • May be required to work other than normal duty hours to support the training mission.
  • Skill of a qualified typist is required.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

Basic Requirements for Training Technician (Office Automation) GS-1702-07:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes, assisting in the classroom scheduling for students; retrieving student and school data while producing a range of documents (i.e. calendars, catalogs, reports, spreadsheets, etc.); and assisting in developing training guidance to be distributed among students. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
