Summary
This position is located in the Office of Data Science and Emerging Technologies (ODSET), Office of Scientific Management and Operations (OSMO), Office of the Director (OD), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), National Institutes of Health (NIH), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
Develop and establish short-range and long-range strategic goals and objectives, annual and multi-year work plans, and work schedules for in-service and/or contracted work to accomplish the functions of the Office.
Ensure that NIAID policies associated with data science align with NIH policies (such as data management and sharing, privacy protection, informed consent, etc.).
Evaluate user needs and develops recommendations for methodologies and systems to gather, store, analyze, and share diverse data sets including, genomics and other omics, as well as clinical imaging, assay, experimental, and epidemiological data.
Serve on NIAID and NIH-wide committees and domestic and international working groups and task forces concerned with data science as related to infectious diseases and immune-mediated disorders.
U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

Qualifications
Basic Qualification:
Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
Additional Qualifications:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: developing data infrastructure, platforms, and knowledge-based solutions; recommending data-driven solutions using predictive modeling and analytics; coordinating bioinformatics and emerging technology programs; and designing infectious, immunologic, and allergic disease databases.
