This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Serves as a project manager, responsible for the overall management, control, coordination and execution of assigned programs and projects.
Controls and manages project milestones and budgets from initial studies through design, construction and initial operations.
Represents the District Commander and serves as the district's primary point of contact for assigned projects with customer(s).
Allocates project funds to district elements, consistent with progress attained, and measures and monitors performance to ensure commitments of all parties are being maintained.
Completes civil Works projects that may include dams, water diversion structures, bridges, flood walls, levees, river control structures, bypasses, flood plains, environmental restoration and relocations.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes working with Project Management Processes and Policies; involvement in projects with DoD OR other non-DoD Federal agencies to include Military Construction, Facilities Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
