Provides clinical consultation to the medical staff concerning such matters as the chemical differences between compounds, proper dosages, general administration of the drugs and medicines, toxicity, drug interactions, precautions, alternative medications, contraindications, side effects, synergistic actions, therapeutic interchange, and forms of current and new drugs, experimental drugs, new usages for current drugs, and comparative cost of drugs with the same or similar properties.
Provides information to medical personnel regarding concentration, number of doses in a solution, etc.
Makes judgments concerning drug effects and patient behavior, contraindications and adverse effects. Brings potential serious situations to the attention of medical personnel.
Maintains responsibility for the distribution and accountability of drugs/medications utilized at the disaster or deployment site.
Receives, sorts, stores, and distributes large amounts of pharmaceuticals in a short time period, including but not limited to NDMS pharmacy cache and CDC stockpiles.
This position is an episodic, intermittent position with irregular or occasional work hours, and you are only compensated for time worked. You also may not hold dual federal employment.
A Doctoral of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree that is recognized by the (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Educationat the time the degree was obtained.
