This position is located in National Operations Center (NOC) / Division of Resource Services, Branch of Technical Operations, Information and Publishing, Lakewood, CO. In addition to meeting the education requirement, you must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples:1) Overseeing library digitization projects and initiatives, providing technical expertise and project management support in the creation, maintenance, and preservation of digital collections. AND 2) Participate in processing and managing digital collections, incorporating "born digital" items into the library's collection. AND 3) Provide reference and research assistance to customers. AND 4) Managing library websites for content and layout. AND 5) Assisting with library instructional training and outreach.

Education: 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education in library science or doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) related to the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate graduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). This position has a positive education requirement which requires at least 1 full academic year of graduate study in library science in an accredited college or university, in addition to completion of all work required for a bachelor's degree.

A total of at least 5 years of a combination of college-level education, training, and experience and can establish conclusively that the education, training, and experience provided a knowledge and understanding of the theories, principles, and techniques of professional librarianship; a knowledge of literature resources; and the knowledge and abilities essential for providing effective library and information services.
