Designs and implements enterprise-wide data management, governance, and compliance strategies and frameworks to manage GAO's data assets.
Develops data governance processes and systems to adapt, implement, and execute, the agency's data management strategy.
Develops enterprise-wide policies and processes to standardize the collection, hosting, storage,use and deletion of data assets.
Advises and develops polices and processes to ensure data assets are managed in accordance with relevant laws, industry standards, emerging best practices, and agency requirements.
Leads an agency-wide council that provides executive sponsorship and oversight of policies, standards, and programs related to data governance and compliance.
Advises senior executives on how data management can be used to drive digital innovation,reduce costs, and increase value to the agency.
Leads data governance and administrative support professionals that develop and implement processes and products to implement the data management and governance strategies.
Procures or adapts the technical tools and product infrastructure to ensure data management is cost-effective and value-added.
You must be registered with the Selective Service, as applicable.
You will serve at the Comptroller General's pleasure.
You may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance depending on the engagements, projects, and initiatives you are assigned to.

Qualifications

The technical qualifications describe the necessary professional and technical knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of this position.
The technical qualifications for this position are:
Experience working with an organization's leadership and senior executives to create a data governance or management strategy.
Experience conducting a data maturity assessment to determine gaps in an organization's data governance or management processes.
Experience selecting and implementing security and privacy controls to protect federal information systems.
Experience establishing data architecture guidance to ensure that data systems have consistent metadata.
Experience participating in an enterprise-wide data governance body consisting of business and technical stakeholders to: 1) identify the scope of the data that needs to be managed; 2) prioritize key data-related issues; 3) establish needed policies; and 4) implement processes and solutions to address requirements.
