Duties

Help
  • Serves as the logistic assistance authority and consultant on all aspects of logistic assistance mission activities within the region of assignment.
  • Provides logistics assistance on a regional basis to supported units by investigating, coordinating, and recommending solutions to logistic problems and deficiencies affecting deployed weapon system(s).
  • Conducts overall technical appraisal of the region-wide program through analysis of reports and data and through discussions with key operating and staff personnel within and outside the region of assignment.
  • Provides guidance on new or revised policies, schedules and other changes in technical and supply programs to supported commanders and unit personnel.
  • Keeps abreast of all aspects of the Army Warranty and Price Challenge Programs as related to supported weapons systems and provides technical, procedural advice and assistance to logistic assistance program managers and supported units.

  • In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Emergency-Essential".
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position requires the incumbent to possess, or obtain and maintain, a valid regular or official U.S. Passport.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 50% of the time.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Government Credit Card.

  • Incumbent may be on-call, work irregular hours, accompany the assigned unit during technical and training field exercises, and deploy to contingency areas in support of the command's weapon systems.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized experience: One year of Specialized experience which includes 1) experience in providing logistical support and guidance on maintenance procedures pertaining to rotary wing aircrafts; 2) experience in providing technical assistance in the operation, testing, or maintenance of aircraft systems and/or resolving field problems through technical research/investigations of materiel deficiencies and malfunctions; and/or 3) experience in implementing outcome-based product support strategies that optimize readiness and life cycle cost affordability of rotary wing aircraft systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade /level position in the federal service (GS 11 or above).Time in Grade Requirement:

Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
