About the position: This position will be assigned to the NAF Human Resources Office.

Serves as the information source on administrative, procedural and regulatory requirements for the personnel security program in the Davis-Monthan AFB NAF Human Resource Office.

This is a Regular part-time position which guarantees 20 hours a week. Regular part-time positions are entitled to benefits such as health insurance, 401k, retirement, and life insurance.

Duties

Help

  • Serves as the information source on administrative, procedural and regulatory requirements for the personnel security program in the Davis-Monthan AFB NAF Human Resource Office, submitting and processing required information for all security investigations.
  • Responsible for initiating, processing, submitting and tracking local and/or other DoD Installation Records Checks (IRC), State Criminal History Repository Checks (SCHRC), Child Care Tier 1 Investigations (CT1), Special Agreement Checks (SAC), Tier 1 (T1) and all other investigations and checks as dictated by current policy and procedure.
  • Works closely with selectees and employees to ensure information required to submit appropriate investigations is complete, accurate and timely. Answers inquiries concerning status of pending actions.
  • Accurately maintains all tracking mechanisms to include Official Personnel Folders (OPF), data systems and local spreadsheets. Forwards timely and accurate copies of records as required.
  • Develops local adjudication packages and processes according to current policy and procedures.
  • Maintains files IAW current policy and procedures.
  • Stays abreast of requirements and updates local policy and procedure as required.
  • Develops and maintains Continuity Book with all policy, procedure and contacts for use by other staff as required.
  • Assists HR Officer with special projects.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to include general administrative and/or clerical duties.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:

  • Applicant must have progressively responsible experience in clerical or office work that provided a thorough knowledge of administrative principles and practices. Experience must have been sufficiently demanding to demonstrate ability to perform at this pay band level.
  • Experience in reviewing supporting information (documentary evidence, affidavits, testimony, etc.) identifying discrepancies, obtaining information to resolve issues; knowledge of filing systems to include assembly, maintenance, and tracking of files; preparing routine correspondence and responding to general inquiries.
  • In addition, must have a minimum of one (1) year experience that required the applicant to acquire and apply a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of the rules, regulations, procedures, and program requirements of personnel administration.
  • Must have experience in processing security background investigations.
  • Knowledge of office automation software (MS Windows, MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Excel) and skill using internet based programs is required.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak in order to effectively communicate.
  • Must possess skill in dealing with the public.
  • Typing skills are required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret (T3) clearance.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position DOES NOT allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
