  • Performs selected tasks and phases of routine studies and projects that require application of basic occupational field theory and principles in the technical area of clerical/admin.
  • Participates with senior personnel in conducting non routine projects.
  • Provides assistance in planning, monitoring, and conducting special studies, projects and initiatives.

  • Must sign a Participant Agreement
  • U.S. citizen or national (resident of American Samoa or Swains Island)
  • Males 18 years or older must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal and Regulatory Guidance
  • You must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • Enrollment must be at least half-time course load as defined by the education institution (typically six hours or equivalent for undergraduate and three hours or equivalent for graduate)
  • Meet the qualification standards of the position
  • Must have a good academic standing (no less than 2.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 grading scale for bachelor's programs and 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 grading scale for master's program

Qualifications

EDUCATION: You must currently be enrolled in school. You must meet the following education for appropriate grade level. Failure to submit transcripts and proof of enrollment will result in an ineligible rating.

GS-03 grade level: Completion of 30 semester hours or more of post high school study leading towards a qualifying degree (i.e. associate's, bachelor's, master's, etc.)

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The Pathways Student Internship offers valuable work experience directly related to your academic field of study. This is your opportunity to begin a successful Federal civilian career with the United States Air Force. As an Intern, you will be given the opportunity to gain the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to pursue a successful career with the US Air Force.

This internship is to provide a learning opportunity for a student enrolled in a field of study relating to their career path, to enhance their future goals and improve their knowledge with work experience in a working environment.

The entire period served under the Internship Program counts as the participant's trial period.
