Duties

Help
  • Plan and manages the repair and utilities program.
  • Coordinate requests for alterations, modifications, and new construction with the Garrison Master Plan to avoid duplication of facilities, interference with planned or existing facilities or conflict with environmental protection consideration.
  • Participate with the Program, Budget, and Manpower Division and other directorate personnel in preparing, justifying, and adjusting the directorate budget.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all facilities work performed by contractors.
  • Direct an environmental management, protection, and compliance program involving land, fish and wildlife; cultural and natural resources; hazardous and toxic substance use, waste and disposal; and noise, air, and water pollution.
  • Through subordinate supervisors assigns, directs, and evaluates work of the subordinate organizational elements.
  • Review and accepts or rejects work accomplished; evaluates subordinate employee performance; identifies and fulfills the training needs of subordinates.
  • Approve annual, multiyear-year and longer range work plans developed by subordinate supervisors/managers; oversees revisions of these plans as necessary and manages achievement of goals and objectives outlined in long range plans.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, which includes providing oversight of onsite construction activities; administering contracts; participating in architectural and engineering planning and design, including space installation management.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
