Help
  • Supervises and assign the daily production to include but not limited to files, proofs, G-7 color management, One Vision , Kodak Prinergy, Kodak Preps and Prisma workflows for conventional, Inkjet and Kolbus processes.
  • Extensive background using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat DC, Bridge) Document Scanning with Pixillion conversion and Quadient Inspire Platform.
  • Works with Press/Bindery supervisory team to set job priorities, daily personnel assignments, equipment assignments, and daily division goals.

To qualify for the position, you must meet the following requirements: Applicants must meet the following Screen-Out element, Job Element #1:

  • Ability to Lead or Supervise to be considered eligible for the position. Applicant must have experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to independently perform the duties typically required of this position of a Pre-Press Supervisor. These duties include distributing work assignments; explaining and ensuring work performed in section meet required quality levels; leading crews in completing projects; providing informal training to other journeypersons in all phases of the Text Processing Section; ensuring production schedules are met daily identifying work plans, appropriate personnel, materials and equipment; and recommend solutions to the supervisor for action; developing work plans to ensure timely completion of work; and performing administrative and personnel management functions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Background Investigation:
To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the GPO requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy; this position requires Suitability. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully complete a background for a Suitability. This review could include fingerprints and credit checks, as well as a full field FBI background investigation and tax and bar checks for attorney applicants. The background investigation covers a period of seven to ten years depending on the nature of the position; this process may take 6 weeks or longer. The Agency may rescind the tentative offer, if the candidate is unable to pass the background investigation.
