As an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) at the GS-2210-11 some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • As a member of the Cyber Operations Branch within the Cybersecurity Division, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing DMDC Cybersecurity tools.
  • Lead the Cybersecurity Tools contractor teams. Develop strategy, standards, processes and technology for all cyber tools.
  • Make decisions on implementation and operations of cyber tools.
  • Have expert cybersecurity knowledge in network or application design, operating systems, endpoint protection, mobile devices, and foundational cybersecurity technical controls.
  • Maintain knowledge of all aspects of cybersecurity and compliance, including Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST 800-53 requirements and best practices.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to less-experienced team members.
  • Performs all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems from intentional or inadvertent access.
  • Have expert knowledge in ESS/HBSS (McAfee ePO), ACAS (Tenable Security Center, Nessus, Nessus Manager, and Nessus Network Monitor), ACEM (Tanium), Application Code Scanning tools, File Integrity Monitoring tools, Container Security Tools, Privileged Access Management(PAM), Enterprise Logging, SIEM, IPS/IDS, and be able to perform senior analyst functions that will assist in the identifying, monitoring, and analyzing cyber activity.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-11 if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:

  • Perform security reviews of application designs, software development, source code and deployments; conduct systems security evaluations, audits and reviews.
  • Ensure systems and applications are in compliant with DoDI 8510.01, Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology (IT), DoDI 8500.01 Cybersecurity and National Institute Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-37 directive and procedures.

OR

B. Possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in the field of Information Technology or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study.
