Duties

Help

  • Manages and maintains program, operation, and maintenance of the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) Field Office
  • Provide the necessary services to KAFB personnel acting as agent of the State of New Mexico to perform those functions assigned to the Motor Vehicle Division
  • Completely review all documents presented by the customer for compliance with MVD regulations. Register and Title vehicles, administer required written and skills test
  • Issue driver's licenses and permits. Accept applications and issue identification cards
  • Provide physical security of all MVD documents, forms, and equipment
  • Greet customers, give information, and promote sales of different items/events
  • Collect all fees and charges including cash, checks, and credit cards
  • Creates and administers a training plan to train personnel with no MVD experience
  • Create and submit budgets, marketing plans, work schedules, and work center operating instructions
  • Attend financial and staff meetings as required. Must be able to discuss the financial position of the activity monthly
  • Maintain performance and training records on employees. Responsible to write performance evaluations and award packages on employees
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:

  • Experience in handling, balancing, and safeguarding cash/sales
  • Experience dealing with a variety of customers
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge of New Mexico requirements for obtaining drivers license, title issuance and transfer requirements, lien transfers, and VIN verifications
  • Must have one (1) full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement OR one (1) year of specialized experience related to Motor Vehicle Division and equivalent to NF-02/GS-05 level
  • Must have minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years progressive experience with administrative duties as related to the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department preferred

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.   • According to Executive Order 14043, "Guidance on Applying Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination Requirements to New Hires": New Department of the Air Force civilian employees must be fully vaccinated by their entry on duty (start) date or November 22, 2021, whichever is later. If a new hire intends to request a medical or religious exemption, the start date will be delayed until the exemption process is complete and applicant is either approved for an exemption, or becomes fully vaccinated.
