Duties

Help

As a/an Senior Advisor, you will:

- Serve as a key, senior advisor who provides expert high-level strategic advice, guidance, and support to TTB's Administrator and Deputy Administrator, and to TTB senior executives on mission-critical initiatives, issues, short- and long-range planning, and Bureau functions affecting the enforcement of federal laws and regulations relating to the collection of revenue (alcohol, tobacco, firearms and ammunition) under the Internal Revenue code and provisions of the Federal Alcohol Administration Act
- Independently carry out assignments that involve complex policy areas and organizational, personnel, and resource issues that are of critical importance to the mission of the bureau and may be of a confidential nature
- Actively participate in and/or lead internal TTB meetings, interagency meetings, meetings with industry members, federal, state, and local officials, and representatives of foreign governments, representing the goals and policies of TTB and the Office of the Administrator
- Coordinate and consult with senior management officials of each of the TTB directorates, the Treasury Department, industry members, state/local partners, congressional, and other stakeholders regarding major initiatives, actions accomplished, milestones to be achieved, and other issues or problems of significance
- Lead specific, high-priority programs and initiatives within and/or across TTB's organizations working with the TTB Chief of Staff and Assistant Administrators in accomplishing these tasks

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Providing cross-organizational/program problem solving to support organization-wide goals; AND
- Serving as a counselor or advisor to senior leadership; AND
- Presenting information orally and in writing regarding short and long-term organizational goals.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • As required by Executive Order 14043, Federal employees are required to be fully vaccinated against the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) regardless of the employee's duty location or work arrangement (e.g., telework, remote work, etc.), subject to such exemptions as required by law. If selected for this position, you will be required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and submit proof of vaccination by November 22, 2021. If you are scheduled to onboard after November 22, 2021, before appointment or onboarding you will be required to provide a copy of documentation/proof of vaccination prior to receiving a final job offer. We will provide information on how to request a legally required exemption from this requirement, if applicable.
  • Acceptable forms of proof include:
  1. A copy of the record of immunization from a health care provider or pharmacy;
  2. A copy of the COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card (CDC Form MLS-319813_r, published on September 3, 2020);
  3. A copy of medical records documenting the vaccination;
  4. A copy of immunization records from a public health or state immunization information system; or
  5. A copy of any other official documentation containing: Type of vaccine administered; Number of doses received; Date(s) of administration; and Name of the health care professional(s) or clinic site(s) administering the vaccine(s).
If you fail to provide satisfactory proof of vaccination or to establish entitlement to an exemption, you will not be eligible for employment with TTB.
