Duties

Help
  • Directly assists the Chief of Targets in the management of assigned administrative support program functions.
  • Serves as the resident subject matter expert for all mandated administrative support programs.
  • Serves as the organizational point of contact and liaison with the personnel directorate on military and civilian personnel issues.
  • Assists in planning, administering, and monitoring manpower resource requirements.
  • Receives telephone calls, greets visitors, and ascertain nature of calls or visits and performs other clerical and administrative work in support of the office/organization.

  • Position is designated special-sensitive, incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

  • This position has been designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions

This is a GG-08 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-08 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-08 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of extensive rules, procedures, or operations applied to administrative assignments to perform the procedural and administrative work of the office, such as preparing and editing documents, maintaining files/records, making and preparing travel arrangements, locating, assembling and composing information for various reports, inquiries, and nontechnical correspondence. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Knowledge of the organizational and functional responsibilities and operations of an organization and ability to plan and organize management programs and functions of an organization.

2. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.

3. Knowledge of structure, programs, and work methods of organization for personnel/manning issues.

4. Knowledge of office functions and commitments of supervisor and staff to prepare and review correspondence, to screen telephone calls and visitors, and to perform other substantive or administrative work of the organization. Ability to gather, analyze and present facts, communicate effectively (both orally and in writing), using tact and courtesy and posses the ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines.

5. Knowledge of rules, procedures, or operations to perform administrative work of the office, such as preparing files/records, making and preparing travel arrangements, locating, assembling and composing information for various reports, inquiries, and nontechnical correspondence.

6. Skill in fact-finding, problem analysis, problem resolutions, and development of concrete action plans to solve problems.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
