Duties

Help
  • Genotype diploid oat germplasm and populations.
  • Phenotype diploid oat germplasm and populations for rust resistance.
  • Map disease resistance and other traits on diploid oat germplasm and populations by GWAS or QTL mapping.
  • Develop germplasm for introgression of important genes and fine map/clone critical genes.

Qualifications

This position requires a recent Ph.D in molecular biology or genetics or a related field of study that has equipped the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Knowledge in computer coding skills such as R or Python are highly desirable.

Applicants must meet basic Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standard's requirements of the scientific discipline necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
