As the Assistant Inspector General for Audit (Management Services and Exempt Organizations), you will:
1. Render day-to-day executive supervision of a segment-of the Audit function; advising subordinate managers on policy matters; ensuring proper coordination of the various projects and activities; and control and review of preparation of audit reports.
2. Maintain liaison and working contact with the applicable IRS Executives and their staffs to keep abreast of operating problems.
3. Furnish audit services on areas of potential management improvement and integrity to appropriate management officials, the Inspector General and/or the Congress.
4. Make workload determinations, prepare justifications, and develop recommendations for long-range planning, the annual budget, and the annual audit programs to provide appropriate audit coverage of the programs and operations of the IRS and Related Entities.
5. Provide executive leadership, as delegated, to major special studies generally requiring the services of the multi-functional staffs.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Key Requirements:MANDATORY EXECUTIVE CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Structure your ECQ statements in terms of actions you have taken, the context or environment in which the action was taken, and the outcome or results of those actions (Challenge - Context - Action - Result (CCAR) model). Please be advised the individual selected for this position will likely require certification by a Qualifications Review Board (QRB) conducted by OPM, prior to receiving the Senior Executive Service (SES) appointment. Your responses are required for each of the ECQs, unless you have had your ECQs previously certified by an OPM QRB for the SES. If you completed an SES probationary period, or did not have to serve one, and were removed for a reason that made you ineligible for reinstatement to the SES, you will need a new QRB certification.
If you already have been certified by an OPM QRB, submit proof such as a copy of the certification or an SF-50 showing SES Career Status. Your SF-50 should show a code 4 in block 34. If it shows a code 3, you must address the ECQs or provide a copy of the OPM certification.

Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in auditing or a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting.
OR
Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:
A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or
Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours.
